Wix Website Designer
Marketing Maven, a fun and creative brand management and design firm based in Kansas and serving clients throughout the Midwest, is seeking an experienced Wix Website Designer to join our growing team. This full-time, salaried position is perfect for the creative professional that always needs a challenge, that loves to bring new ideas to life, and who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment to serve others. The ideal candidate will be able to balance the user experience and design of the website with function and technical features using Wix Editor and Wix Studio platforms. This team member’s 40-hour workweek would be split between designing new websites and performing upgrades and maintenance on Wix websites we manage for clients on contract. Depending on the successful candidate’s skills and preferences, this role could also include video production projects, but that is not required to apply.
Required Skills & Experience:

3+ years of experience building stunning and functional websites with Wix Editor and/or Wix Studio, including advanced functions such as Content Managers, eCommerce stores, private login areas, etc.

Keen eye for design, ability to create visually compelling layouts for desktop and mobile. Preference given to candidates with experience creating mockups in Figma or similar apps.

Ability to create and/or adhere to a brand style guide for clients based on their company’s personality, industry, and ideal customer base. We want to help our clients create a consistent and appealing brand experience for their customers.

Understanding of mobile-first design best practices.

Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator for creating graphics. This role will have the support of our graphic design team if need be, but preference will be given to candidates who can create their own icons, infographics, or design elements for Wix sites as needed.

Mastery of SEO optimization, best practices, and Google Search Console tools.

Ability to use Wix CMS to manage and deploy data on websites in a way that still looks nice and provides a great user experience.

Basic understanding of domains and managing DNS settings for clients.

Exceptional communication skills and ability to collaborate on projects with one or more other designers. This includes the ability to help educate clients with humility, providing options or advice where needed in a way that creates trust with that client.

Willingness to assist with graphic design, photography, video, writing, or other projects as needed (training to be provided on additional skills).
Candidates must live in Kansas or the Kansas City metro area so that they can travel to participate in company workshops, retreats, or other events (minimum of 2 trips per year). Position allows for remote work, or to work from one of our two office locations in Great Bend or Kansas City if an in-person experience is preferred. All necessary computer equipment, software, and subscriptions will be provided by the company.
